It’s five (not only in the morning)

Già, sono ormai cinque. Il tuo compleanno, lo festeggeremo alla grande, domani: una brioche con crema doppia tutta per te.

E ti guardo nel frattempo da lontano mentre tu rimani placido ad osservare il mondo e ti basta quello.

Ho scelto questa foto perché meglio di qualunque altra ti rappresenta. Sei vicino alla porta, distaccato, girato ma vicino.

Sei un po’ egoista ma sai che dietro di te, io ti osservo e tu sei sicuro così. Può succedere di tutto, tu non hai paura. Anzi, assieme affrontiamo le paure.

Quanto ho imparato da te! Se fossi rimasto distaccato anch’io in quelle mille situazioni anziché infilarmi al centro e perdermi nelle maglie della rete! Quanti problemi in meno! Quanta serenità avrei avuto, mi sarei risparmiato mille arrabbiature.

Tu sei così: lieve, spensierato, sereno, mai spaventato, mai arrabbiato. Infastidito, incazzoso, ribelle ma giusto per quei due metri lontano da me.

E quando volevi qualcosa, a qualsiasi ora del giorno o della notte, ti sentivi in diritto di venire da me e pretendere che io esaudissi i tuoi desideri.

Per le pisciatine notturne delle una, delle tre e delle sei a Livigno, salivi sul letto e mi saltavi sulla panza, zampettandomi la faccia, per poi trovarti placidamente addormentato alle otto del mattino senza un minimo desiderio di uscire.

Le proteste con fare immusonito, le zampe bloccate in avanti, quando non volevi fare un passo in più e io dovevo aspettare che le tue paturnie passassero.

O quando correvi folle perché avevi visto qualche fantasma e ti impuntavi di salire proprio su quella pianta o infilarti dentro al minuscolo buco dietro il sasso. Non calcolavi la differenza di stazza tra me e te.

Le tue lagnanze puntuali con vigorosi miagolii erano sincrone alle uscite degli autogrill, dove, pare, ti beavi ad annusare gli scarichi di tir parcheggiati e a snasare tutte le aiuole.

Mi guardavi con fare minaccioso se lasciavo che qualche bambino ti accarezzasse e ti tirasse i baffi. Non dicevi niente, ma il tuo sguardo mi prometteva una vendetta puntuale e dolorosissima proprio quando meno me lo sarei aspettato.

E ti sei sempre fidato di me, nonostante i miei mille tradimenti, le mie infedeltà, le mie paturnie. Quando sei stato male, con quelle poche forze che ti rimanevano, ti sei portato nell’auto e ti sei accucciato sotto il sedile. Come per dirmi “ti-concedo-di-andare-dove-vuoi-ma-fammi-guarire”.

Ormai per noi il mondo non sarà troppo grande per scoprirlo assieme anche se mi odi quando uso un mezzo potentissimo al quale devi soccombere, l’aereo. Lo sai che non posso portarti con me.

E così sono cinque per me, per te, per noi. Non so come sarebbe stata la tua vita senza di me, ma so che la mia senza di te sarebbe stata molto peggiore, e lo so che è un errore scrivere molto peggiore, ma chi se ne frega.

Ti amo e per questi tuoi cinque anni ti regalerò un passaporto nuovissimo, tutto per te, così sconfineremo un po’ di più e saremo più internazionali.
